Jun Lana's Barber's Tales competes at Tokyo Fest




Jun Robles Lana's Barber's Tale (Mga Kwentong Barbero) will have its world premiere in the competition section of the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival from October 17 to 25. It will vie for the following awards: Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix, Special Jury Prize, Award for Best Director, Award for Best Actress, Award for Best Actor, Award for and Best for Artistic Contribution.


Shot in Samar, Barber's Tale stars Eugene Domingo, Eddie Garcia, Iza Calzado, Gladys Reyes, Shamaine Buencamino, Nonie Buencamino and Nicco Manalo. Also starring Daniel Fernando, Sue Prado and Jesse Mendoza with special participation of Philippines' Superstar Nora Aunor directed by Jun Robles Lana.

Jun Robles Lana is the youngest Filipino to be inducted into the hall of fame of the Palanca Awards, the Philippines’ most prestigious literary contest. Last year, he wrote, directed and produced the critically acclaimed film Bwakaw, the entry to the Academy Awards.
