September 28, 2013 is now history in the Philippines!
That day marked not only as one of the most glamorous celebration in the world this year but also it is a history for the Philippines as our very own Megan Lynne Young grabbed the country's very first Miss World 2013 title. WOW!
The 23-year-old actress is the first Filipina to win the Miss World since the pageant’s inception in 1951. Miss World 2013 was held in Bali, Indonesia on Saturday, September 28.
In 1973, Evangeline Pascual finished first-runner up, Ruffa Guttierez placed third during the 1993 pageant and in 2011 Gwendoline Ruais settled in first-runner up.

France's Marine Lorphelin finished in second place, while Ghana's Carranzar Shooter placed third. Completing the Top 6 were Spain's Elena Ibarbia, Brazil's Sancler Frantz, and Gibraltar's Maroua Kharbouch (People's Choice).
Hosted by English singer Myleene Klass and Mister World 2010 Kamal Ibrahim, the coronation night featured cultural numbers, as well as performances from British boyband Blue.
